The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) has partnered with the Department of Education (DepEd) Bataan Schools Division Office to establish the Innovations for Community Empowerment through Science and Technology (CEST) Education Entry Point (iCEP) Hub in Abucay, Bataan.
Funded under DOST’s CEST program, the hub will serve as a training center for educators and students, providing access to cutting-edge technologies such as robotics and 3D printing.
DOST Provincial Science and Technology Director Catalina De Leon-Cruz emphasized the initiative’s goal of enhancing digital literacy and problem-solving skills among students by integrating advanced tools into the learning environment.
“DOST Central Luzon, through the Provincial Science and Technology Office-Bataan, recently turned over funding assistance to DepEd Bataan for the acquisition of robotic kits and 3D printing equipment, along with the necessary training,” she said.
To ensure the facility’s efficient operation, personnel managing the hub will undergo comprehensive training to provide adequate support to its users.
Through this initiative, DOST and DepEd aim to empower educators, enrich students’ learning experiences, and promote innovation-driven education—preparing Bataan’s youth for the digital future.
