Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) completed a covered court in barangay Maugat in San Antonio, Nueva Ecija.

Nueva Ecija 2nd District Engineer Elpidio Trinidad said the P4.9-million project was implemented as a way of supporting the infrastructure development of local communities.

It also seeks to provide safe and secure places for holding socio-civic activities and programs.

“We are pleased with the completion of this project and we expect that it will be very beneficial to the community as this structure can be used during emergencies,” Trinidad added.

He also stressed the importance of having facilities like this as temporary accommodation for residents especially those affected by natural and man-made disasters.

The project was implemented under the Basic Infrastructure Program and included in the agency’s 2022 budget. (PIA 3)
