The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed several facilities at the First Scout Ranger Regiment (FSSR) Headquarters in Camp Tecson in San Miguel, Bulacan.
Newly constructed infrastructures include transient quarters, clubhouse, multi-purpose building, administrative/liaison office, motor pool/parking bays and vehicle auto repair shop, and women barracks.
Secretary Mark Villar said these were completed under the Tatag ng Imprastraktura sa Kapayapaan at Seguridad convergence program of DPWH and Department of National Defense.
“The muchly needed facilities completed by the DPWH Bulacan Second District Engineering Office is our national government’s little way of paying off our soldiers for all their sacrifices as they keep a steady commitment in maintaining the peace and security of our country,” he said.
“We also hope to raise their morale in braving the challenges that will test our national integrity in the future,” Villar added.
The newly constructed two-storey, 20-door barracks and transient quarters will provide a comfortable accommodation to soldiers.
Moreover, the women’s barracks will be of great help in meeting the needs of the enlisted women personnel for an accessible, decent, and convenient housing facility.
Refurbishing of the clubhouse, on the other hand, provides a common area to socialize, gather and participate in activities of FSSR.
Meanwhile, the multi-purpose building is intended as venue for official gatherings, training and development activities, and conduct of leisure events.
Both the clubhouse and the multi-purpose building will also promote the much-needed recreational activities, for the conduct of sports, social and even formal functions.
And lastly, the battalion liaison office building will increase the productivity of personnel engaged in administrative functions, while the motor pool/parking bays project will provide a spacious area for the repairs of the vehicles and safekeeping of other assets and equipment. (PIA 3)
