DPWH completes road, drainage improvement in Sasmuan coastal village

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) completed the road and drainage improvement project in the flood-prone coastal barangay of San Nicolas 2nd in Sasmuan, Pampanga.

Pampanga 2nd District Engineer Gregorio Audea Jr. said it covers construction of a 171.30-lineal meter road and 217.60-lineal meter concrete drainage/line canal.

“These will help ease flood problems in the area,” he emphasized.

“We have rehabilitated the road and at the same time replaced the old and clogged drainage canals to better accommodate a larger volume of runoff to help prevent flooding within the vicinity of the market area,” the official furthered.

The Pampanga 2nd District Engineering Office expects the public to enjoy the economic benefits of this project.

“It is in a location considered ideal for development, but due to its proximity to the Pampanga River, overbank flooding is common in the area and this is what the government wants to resolve,” Audea said. (CLJD-PIA 3)
