DTI CL provides P606-M worth of livelihood assistance
TARLAC CITY (PIA) — Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) provided about P606 million worth of livelihood assistance to Central Luzon residents during the first half of 2022.
They are recipients of the agency’s Pangkabuhayan sa Pagbangon at Ginhawa (PPG), COVID-19 Assistance to Restart Enterprises (CARES) Program, and Livelihood Seeding Program-Negosyo sa Barangay (LSP-NSB).
DTI Supervising Trade-Industry Development Specialist Rowie Miranda said a total of 136 livelihood kits were distributed under PPG.
“These kits aim to help former rebels restart in the mainstream society,” Miranda added.
146 business cliniquing were likewise conducted under PPG to help enterprises on their business concerns.
For CARES, 3,303 out of 3,428 approved loan applications were already released to beneficiaries. “This is program intended for enterprises affected by the pandemic,” Miranda explained.
And lastly, a total of 7,626 individuals benefited in the LSP-NSB which has covered 80 barangays in Central Luzon.
“It is a program in partnership with local government units to encourage and help potential micro entrepreneurs to start their own businesses,” Miranda furthered.
With LSP-NSB, 403 starter kits were distributed to different barangays. (CLJD/GLSB-PIA 3)
