About 270 micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) from 13 barangays of Baler, Aurora received various livelihood kits from Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).
DTI OIC-Provincial Director Aldrin Veneracion said each beneficiary got P5,000 worth of kits that depended on their business needs.
“Those distributed include goods for Sari-sari store, Carinderia, Bigasan, food processing, Kakanin or native delicacies making, and fish, meat, vegetable vending,” the official added.
They are the first batch to receive the assistance under the Livelihood Seeding Program – Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay (LSP-NSB) of DTI.
“LSP-NSB allows a wider reach of business development assistance by bringing government services closer to the people through partnership with local government units,” Veneracion explained.
The program is intended to provide priority support to MSMEs affected by natural and human-induced calamities and those severely affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
P40 million has been allotted for Aurora under LSP-NSB, aiming to benefit a total of 7,548 MSMEs in the entire province.
DTI targets to distribute this September alone a total of 1,286 kits in the central towns of Aurora which also includes San Luis, Maria Aurora and Dipaculao. (PIA 3)
