DTI to grant P14.4-M aid to Nueva Ecija MSMEs
The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in Nueva Ecija is set to award Pangakabuhayan sa Pagbangon at Ginhawa (PPG) livelihood packages to 1,275 MSMEs beginning July 26 until August 15, 2022.
In coordination with all the 32 local government units in Nueva Ecija, each of the qualified, identified and deserving MSME will receive a maximum amount of P11,340.00 business kits either bigasan or sari-sari store package for a total amount of P14,458,500.00.
MSMEs preference of either bigasan or sari-sari store business kits will be granted to 605 and 670, respectively. Each local government identified a minimum of 30 MSMEs to a maximum of 205MSMEs as beneficiaries of the PPG livelihood business kits.
The grant of bigasan business kits were sourced out through a MOA with the Provincial Government of Nueva Ecija’s Provincial Food Council as means of support to our local farmers to convert their yield into handsome income. While the sari-sari store business kits passed through DTI BAC.
Each of the MSME beneficiaries were given entrepreneurial seminar and appropriate workshop for the proper handling and operation of their own businesses. They were also required to submit their Barangay Business Permit/DTI Business Registration and/or Mayor’s Permit.
This livelihood grant is a form of “balik tangkilik” being compliant to regulatory permits from our government as entrepreneurs in the formal economy.
The DTI Provincial Director, Dr. Richard Simangan and DTI NE Team as well as the DTI-Region 3 Director Leonila Baluyut will grace the first activity which will be held on July 26, 2022 at the covered gymnasium, Guimba Municipal compound in the morning to 205 MSMEs and in Nampicuan in the afternoon to 70 MSMEs with Nampicuan – 40 and Cuyapo – 30 beneficiary MSMEs.
Succeeding awarding of livelihood business kits will all be held at the gymnasium of each municipal compound in order to maintain our health protocol with only the MSME beneficiary will be at the site for proper documentation. (DTI/Honeylen Marie Fernando)
