Early year-end bonus for Angeles City gov’t workers

A total of 1,316 city government employees here have received their year-end bonus today, November 15, 2021.

On top of the year-end bonus which is equivalent to one-month basic salary, the 1,316 employees – 980 permanent, 321 casual, and 15 contractual – also received their P5,000 cash incentive.

Flordeliza Santos, President of the Association of Government Employees for a New Dynamic Angeles City (AGENDA), said it is indeed a merry Christmas for the employees, receiving their cash incentives on Nov. 15, 2021, a day before its designated release.

This after Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. on Sept. 28, 2021 ordered the Local Finance Committee composed of the City Budget Office led by Corazon Ayson; City Accounting Office headed by Genoveva Dizon; and City Treasurer’s Office led by Juliet Quinsaat to prepare P32,542,594 for the year-end bonus and P6,580,000 for the cash gift of the 1,316 employees and release it on Nov. 16, 2021.

“Matibay po kayong kaagapay ng siyudad sa pagbibigay ng serbisyo sa mga Angeleños. The incentives are just one of the many ways to recognize your hardwork and dedication amid the pandemic,” Mayor Lazatin shared.

Meanwhile, Santos said that the release of cash incentives is an indication of Mayor Lazatin’s continuous effort to uplift the welfare of the employees.

“Sa ngalan po ng mga empleyado ng Angeles City Hall, muli’t muli po kaming nagpapasalamat sa maagang pag-release ng year-end bonus ng mga kawani. Buhat po noon, kahit wala pang pandemya, batid po naming hindi nakakalimutan at pinapabayaan ni Mayor Lazatin ang mga empleyado,” Santos mentioned.

“Gayundin po ang kapasalamatan kina Chief Adviser IC Calaguas and Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel in looking out for us employees,” she added.

Aside from the year-end bonus and P5,000 cash gift, the 1,316 employees are set to receive P17,000 additional benefits including the Collective Negotiation Agreement (CNA) bonus worth P6,000 which will be released on Dec. 14; Service Recognition Incentive worth P6,000 on December 21; and the Productivity Enhancement Incentive worth P5,000 which is to be released to the 1,316 workers on Dec. 28.

On the other hand, 2,959 Contract of Service (COS) employees who are qualified for the P3,000 year-end gratuity will receive theirs on Dec. 7, 2021.
