ERASERHEADS ARE BACK: ELY BUENDIA CONFIRMS BAND’S RETURN

Eraserheads frontman Ely Buendia has confirmed that the iconic OPM band is making a comeback.

During a talkback panel following a special advanced screening of the documentary Eraserheads: Combo on the Run, the 54-year-old musician declared, “By this time I think, tama na yung reunion-reunion na yan, wala nang huling-huling el bimbo, we’re here to stay… Until we decide to break up again, that is.”

At the film’s official press conference, Ely also shared insights on whether the documentary played a role in the band’s healing process.

“I think we all felt it was the right time because we can only converge and do something creative. It’s such a huge undertaking to get the guys together, and there are so many moving parts to help again with the healing process and keep the ball rolling, so to speak,” he explained.

He added, “I think it was the right time for a film because we haven’t done a film since Run Barbi Run. That was a bit of a letdown because of our own personal experiences. At least with this documentary, parang there’s a lot of positive things that could happen.”
