Fernandino pet lovers gather for “Pet Mo, Show Mo”
In an aim to promote responsible pet ownership despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the local government unit of San Fernando staged again its “Pet Mo, Show Mo” on February 19, 2022 at Heroes Hall.
The “Pet Mo, Show Mo” program marked its 9th year as an annual program of the City Agriculture and Veterinary Office (CAVO). It was in line with the celebration of Kaganapan 2022.
This year’s competition had four categories: Glamour and Style, Cool and Dandy, Tough and Glory, and Intergalactic.
klUnder the Glamour and Style, awards were given for the following: Most Beautiful Pet, Look alike, and Best Dressed Pet. Most Friendly Pet, Most Behave and Cleanest/Best Groomed Pet were also among the plums under Cool and Dandy Category.
For the Tough and Glory, there were two categories: Most Clever Pet and The Entertainer Award (Best in Talent). Most Exotic Pet and Ugliest Pet were under the Intergalactic category.
Winners received certificates and cash prizes. According to Dr. Ryan Paul Manlapaz, City Veterinarian, despite the pandemic, the CAVO made it possible to push through since animal welfare is one of the City’s priorities.
City Agriculturist Cristina Sangumay added that aside from this activity, CAVO also lined up several activities to strengthen animal welfare.
Meanwhile, Mayor Edwin “EdSa” Santiago encouraged everyone to support the city government’s actions and initiatives in promoting responsible pet ownership by availing CAVO services on the welfare of animals.
