“The best man for the job is a woman.”
And Vice President Leni Robredo said this with conviction, committed to give her best to the Filipino people should they decide they want her to be their next President.
At the at the Comelec PiliPinas Presidential Debate on Saturday, March 19, Robredo laid out her data-driven plans for the country’s economy and healthcare amid the pandemic.
Halfway through the two-and-a-half-hour debate, “Madam President” was trending on social media.
Robredo clearly impressed the people, standing out not just because she was the only female presidential candidate but because she displayed clarity of thought and presented practical programs she would push for to improve the lives of the Filipinos should she be elected President on May 9.
Robredo’s spokesperson, Barry Gutierrez, tweeted:
“A firm grasp of the issue (complete with relevant data points), followed by clear, innovative, concrete solution (may specific budget allocation pa ha), at may sukli pa ang allotted 90 seconds.”
Netizens took note how Robredo did her research, and she has data to back up her proposals. Others tweeted the photo showing the footwear the candidates were wearing, focusing on Robredo standing out as the only one in heels.
Kaya straight to the point ang sagot.
Robredo continued to trend on Twitter. The hashtag #KayLeniNaTayo trended on social media with over 114 thousand tweets at press time.
Her debate closing statement once again, left an indelible mark on the people, as she emphasized her record of helping people in all parts of the country:
“True leaders show up, and man up. Kaya po sa darating na Mayo, the best man for the job is a woman.” (VP Leni Media Bureau)
