Angeleños, mostly senior citizens, underwent free cataract operation on Tuesday, November 23, 2021.
This is a joint project of Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. and Pampanga First District Rep. Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin.
The 56 patients from Barangays San Nicolas, Lourdes Sur, Pampang, Anunas, Cuayan and Sto. Rosario were picked up from their homes by the city government and were transported to different partner medical institutions for initial check up.
Earlier, the Gender and Development Office, led by Mina Cabiles, distributed forms for free cataract operation in 6 Rural Health Units (RHUs) and 28 sub-health centers. The City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), headed by Joy Duaso, then conducted social case studies and made the necessary endorsement.
Among the cornerstones of the Lazatin brothers’ administration is providing more accessible public health programs to Angeleños such as giving free check-up and medicines, door-to-door delivery of free medicines to senior citizens, Persons with Disability, and bedridden, free wheelchairs, free anti-rabies vaccine in the Animal Bite Treatment Center, as well as financial medical assistance.
