Five Angeleños underwent minor surgeries at the Angeles City Puso Center, while four had cataract operations at the city’s partner institution today, January 6.
The Angeleños who had their minor surgeries are Myca Palculito, Anita Baraguio, Janylle Manalili, Conrad Bernardo, and Rojer Tayag.
The patients will also receive free medicines from the city government.
In February 2020, the Puso Center, being a priority project, was established by Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr., who vowed access to ‘readily available medical care to poor and marginalized Angeleños.”
The Center is supervised by Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel with the help of resident doctor Rey Hipolito, health workers and staff from City Health Office and Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.
Free cataract operations
Meanwhile, Carmelita Mandap of Barangay Malabanias, Geracio De Guzman, Gloria De Guzman and Renello Bacay Sr. Of Barangay Balibago underwent cataract operation at the city’s partner institution also today, January 6.
The free cataract operation is a joint project of Mayor Lazatin, Jr., and Pampanga First District Representative Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II.
Just like during their initial check-up, all patients will be picked up from their homes via schedule by the staff of Gender and Development Office led by Mina Cabiles.
Mayor Lazatin’s Chief Adviser IC Calaguas said that for those who wish to register for free cataract operations, forms are available at the 6 Rural Health Units and 28 sub-health centers and will be collected by the GAD staff for the scheduling of their initial check-ups.
