A grand gala night dubbed “Gabi ng Parangal, Pasasalamat at Hiyawan” at the Bulwagang KanLahi of the Diwa ng Tarlac culminated the four-day celebration of Tarlac Provincial Hospital’s (TPH) 100-year celebration.
The gala night was attended by Governor Susan Yap, Vice Governor Carlito David, former Congressman Victor Yap, Representatives Christian Yap and Noel Rivera, Board Members Danilo Asiaten, Dennis Go and Joy Gilbert Lamorena, Mayors Estelita Aquino, Rex Villa Agustin and Jappy de Dios, TPH Chief of Hospital Dr. Maita Rigor, Department of Health (DoH) Regional Director Dr. Corazon Torres, DoH Provincial Representative Maria Noel Lim, Provincial Health Officer Dr. Jeannette Lazatin, the past TPH chiefs of hospital, the different TPH departments and staff.
Past chiefs of hospital were honored during the gala night.
Former Congressman Yap, who was also the governor of the province during the transformation of the TPH into a premiere government hospital in Central Luzon paid tribute to all those who contributed and has been part in the improvement and evolution of the hospital.
“I would like to congratulate all those who have been part to the great journey of TPH. The journey started in 2001 when I joined [the administration] of Gov. Aping [Yap] to do something about the administration of the TPH and the rest was history,” he said.
In Gov. Yap’s message, she said that the TPH is getting stronger every year.
“It doesn’t give you goose bumps na 100 years na ang TPH and be part of this institution. Lahat ng hirap at pagod, batikos na dinaanan ay naririto pa rin tayo…getting stronger every year,” the lady governor said.
Other activities during the four-day festivities were a Motorcade and Float Competition, Centennial Thanksgiving Mass, Opening of the TPH Centennial Gallery, Dress-up Your Station Competition, Isang Daang Pasasalamat at Kamustahan, Fun Bike Ride, Colors and Bubbles Fun Run, Miss Gay Centennial, Medical Mission, Blood Letting, Ground Breaking and the laying of the Heritage Time Capsule.—Arvin F.
