Gamat Kapampangan celebrates Artists Day

The Gamat Kapampangan Artist Association (GK) led the successful staging of the 4th Angeles City Artist Day, showcasing the unity and creativity of the local arts community.

Held in collaboration with the Angeles City Mayor’s Office, Angeles City Tourism Office, Angeles City Culture and Arts Council (CACA), Kuliat Foundation Inc. (KFI), and the NHCP Museum of Philippine Social History, the annual event highlighted diverse artistic expressions—from theater and music to spoken word and performance art.

A key highlight was the recognition of outstanding Kapampangan artists, including Edu Perreras, Andy Ramos, Arnel D. Garcia, Jenny-Lyn Waje David, Maricar Yabut-Sangalang, Jojoy Zabala, Rolando L. Suba, and Gracito Nicodemus Tulabut for their contributions to arts, culture, and heritage.

Performances from local groups such as Teatro Angeleño Inc. and other artists underscored the growing collaboration within the creative sector. The program was hosted by GK officers Lani Joy Mercado and Maricar Yabut-Sangalang, with support from media partners and advocates including Culture Shack 2.0.

Now in its fourth year, the celebration — initiated by the driving force behind Culture Shack 2.0 Ronnie Tayag and former Gamat Kapampangan Art Group president and now adviser Dr. Vittorio Pantig—continues to serve as a platform for promoting and preserving Kapampangan arts and culture.
