Gayak Angeleño raises ₱225K for Bale Balayan

Gayak Angeleño: The Mutya Ning Angeles 2022 Charity Gala Night that featured ternos executed by Angeleño designers, was able to raise a total of ₱225,000 for the benefit of Anak Bale Balayan — Museum for Poor Center Transformation.

Typhoon Paeng notwithstanding, the spirit of charity was not dampened, and as a matter of fact, prevailed at Gayak Angeleño, which was able to raise at least ₱225,000.00: ₱100,000.00 from the Angeles City Fashion Designers Guild; ₱50,000.00 from Mayor Pogi; ₱50,000.00 from Beautéderm Corporation President Rei Anicoche-Tan; and ₱25,000.00 from Chief Adviser IC Calaguas and Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel.

The event is a joint project of the Angeles City Fashion Designers Guild – topbilled by Marlon Tuazon, Rosette Ramos Biag, Jojo Macapinlac and Frederick Policarpio — and the Angeles City government, and is sponsored by San Miguel Corporation and Rockwell Center Nepo Angeles.

Gayak Angeleño centered on extending assistance to Anak Bale Balayan, a museum which conducts training in music and dance for the less fortunate members of the society.

Located at Barangay Sta. Teresita, Anak Bale Balayan, founded and headed by renowned and multi-awarded artist Peter De Vera, has partnered with the Angeles City government for the music and dance training of children in conflict with the law (CICLs) housed at the city’s youth reformation center Bahay Pag-Asa.

De Vera also vowed to train the CICLs on how to play local and Asian-inspired instruments. This is also being offered to the other youth who joined the Anak Bale Balayan.

Mayor Pogi stated “We are sharing a common goal with Mr. De Vera in transforming the youth through arts.”

One of the flagship programs of Mayor Lazatin is to secure the future and welfare of Angeleño children, especially those in need of help.

“The city government will continue to provide programs for them, to bring them back in the community as productive individuals,” he added.

Gayak Angeleño featured the designs of Mich Viray, Bhraye Adefuin, RJ Guevarra, Rich Sabinian, Bryan Henson, Carl John Miranda, Manny Ocampo, Richard De Jesus, Jhune Angeles, Cholo Ayuyao, Philip Torres, Clarence Ayuyao, Glenn Pablo, Jojo Macapinlac, Tuazon, Ramos-Biag, and Policarpio. Their terno creations were donned by the 18 official candidates of Mutya Ning Angeles, including Kassandra Mae Manlutac (Sapalibutad); Eingel A. Lumbang (Sapangbato); Cayle Valerie Galang (Cutcut); Lyn Sharyl Julian (Mining); Allana Kashi Delima (Sta.
