GCash, the country’s leading mobile wallet, is now accepted in Asia’s top travel destinations, including South Korea, Japan, Singapore, and Malaysia. This is made possible through GCash’ collaboration with Alipay+.
In South Korea, travelers may go cashless in Alipay+ partner establishments like Starbucks, Hyundai Duty Free Shop, Lotte, Line Friends, Shilla DFS, Haidiao, and Paris Baguette in Myeong-Dong, Dong Dae Moon, Hong Dae, Itaewon, and Seoul Namsan Tower.
In Malaysia, GCash may be used at at convenience stores Happy Mart and KK Mart, and food shops Dunkin Donut, Bake with Yen, Tealive and Mydin.
And in Japan, GCash is accepted at shops that include like Takashimaya, Isetan Shinjuku, Odakyu, Don Quixote, Rayard Miyashita Park, Tokyo Solamachi Mall, Ichiran Ramen, Kani-Doraku, and Kara Sushi in select cities of Shibuya, Asakusa, Shinjuki, and Odaiba.
Outlets with an in-store display of the Alipay+ sign accept GCash payments. Clients may open the GCash app, then tap the QR to scan the merchant’s code. Only verified users may use GCash abroad.
Efforts are currently underway for GCash to accept payments in the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Germany, and Australia.
