Tarlac Governor Susan Yap graced “PAGKILALA”, a photo exhibit and book launching featuring Tarlaqueño talents at the lower ground floor level of SM City-Tarlac last November 17.

Launched were the coffee table book titled “Unlock Tarlac”, “Guide to the Birds of Canarem Lake” and “Beyond Bows and Arrows” in which the culture, tradition and natural resources of Tarlac were featured. Selected photos from the three books were likewise showcased in the photo exhibit.

Unlocking Tarlac is authored by diver and photographer Scott “Gutsy” Tuason, Beyond Bows and Arrows, a book about the rich culture of the Aeta Tribe Aballen by Tarlac Provincial Tourism Staff Dax Simbol while “Guide to the Birds of Canarem Lake” is a compilation of the beautiful and exotic birds of the Canarem Wetlands photographed by Errol Sabile and Ayron Timbol who are also staffers of the Tarlac Provincial Tourism Office.

“I am truly proud of our Tarlaqueño photographers most especially, three of them are employees of the provincial government of Tarlac. These book are aimed to widen, preserve and introduce Tarlac as a province of rich traditions and a province with so much natural resources. My congratulations to all,” Gov. Yap said in her message.

The Aballen Tribe are indigenous people that resides at the western portion of the province while Canarem Lake is located at Victoria, Tarlac.

Vice Governor Carlito “Casada” David, Tarlac second district Congressman Christian Tell Yap, Board Members Joy Gilbert Lamorena and Harmes Sembrano, Victoria Mayor Rex Villa Agustin, Victoria Vice Mayor Tani Guiam and the Victoria Sangguniang Bayan members, Provincial Tourism Point-Person Arsenio “Baby” Lugay II, Tourism Officers of Victoria, Camiling, Tarlac City, Moncada and Paniqui, the Canarem Wetlands Development team, Lysia Co of Soroptomist International, William Co of the Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Gerona Councilor Holden Sembrano likewise attended the affair.
