‘Kabiayan’ turnover, acceptance rites in Mabalacat City

The Mabalacat City Tourism Office and Mabalacat Public Employment Services Office held the official turnover and acceptance ceremony for “Kabiayan: Livelihood Training Program” at Mawaque Resettlement Center on Thursday, July 28.

The ceremony was led by Mayor Crisostomo Garbo together with city tourism officer Arwin Lingat, PESO head Bernard Delos Reyes, city administrator Franco Madlangbayan, Department of Labor and Employment – Region 3 assistant regional director Alex Cruz and Pampanga provincial director Arlene Tolentino.

The city government received a total of P500,000 check donated by DOLE-3 for the tourism livelihood program of this city. Materials for the livelihood training program were also provided.

Included in Kabiayan is a training series for indigenous people of Mag-Antsi tribe and women of Santa Teresa ning Calcutta chapel on soap making, mat and basket weaving, sewing, beaded accessories making and others.

On behalf of the Aeta Mag-antsi tribe, coordinator Dominga Cabiong thanked the city government for including them in MCG’s livelihood programs.
