The fans of Miss Universe Philippines 2021 candidate Kisses Delavin of Masbate showed their love and full support for her quest for the crown by renting six (6) LED billboards around Metro Manila sponsored by the DonKissFam that featured the popular candidate from 6:00 am – 10:00 pm today, September 17.
Lasting 15 seconds per run, the video clips of the fan favorite were shown in the billboards at the EDSA Galleria Corporate Center; the EDSA GA Tower; the EDSA Guadalupe SB; the EDSA Guadalupe NB; Magallanes; and, the MOA Globe.
#KirstenIsMissU is also trending on Twitter with 142,000 tweets. Fans tweeted: “I guess now it’s safe to say that it’s EDSA Kisses Day!”; “We love youuuu Kirsten! Go for the crown!” while some of her fans took a “selfie” in front of the billboards.
This is the first time a candidate in the Miss Universe Philippines pageant was showered with such explicit support by fans.
Kirsten Danielle “Kisses” Tan Delavin, 22, is a Filipino actress, beauty queen, and recording artist. She first gained popularity in 2016 as a contestant in the reality television series Pinoy Big Brother: Lucky 7 where she placed second.
Kisses surprised her fans last August by joining the Miss Universe Philippines 2021 competition as the representative of her hometown of Masbate. She will be competing against 28 other hopefuls for the honor of representing the Philippines in the Miss Universe beauty pageant in December.
Before joining PBB, Kisses has had her share of beauty pageants. Her journey started when in high school, she was crowned Miss Teen Campus and Miss Alma Mater. In 2013, she was crowned Miss Teen Masbate and was hailed Miss Masbate 2016 and Miss Kaogma.
She said in an interview with local pageant websites which was streamed live on Facebook that her main inspiration is Miss International 2013 Bea Rose Santiago. Kisses mentioned that she first saw Santiago when the beauty queen hosted a competition she joined when she was a teenager. Santiago had also earlier been hailed Miss Masbate.
She also said that she is honored to have beauty queen friends, such as Kylie Verzosa who won as Miss International in 2016.
Despite getting heavy criticism such as “kulang sa height”, “marami lang fans” or “artista kasi”, Delavin is a fan favorite in the Miss Universe Philippines 2021 competition, having won both the Introduction and Headshot challenges.
The winner of the Miss Universe Philippines 2021 competition will represent the country in the Miss Universe pageant that will be held in Israel in December. The winner will replace and be crowned by Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo.
The Miss Universe Philippines 2021 Coronation Night will be on September 25 and will be broadcast by ABS-CBN.
