Legato Philippines helps abandoned kids through a volunteer initiative at Tahanan ng Pagmamahal Children’s Home

Legato Health Technologies Philippines, Inc. (“Legato”), a Great Place to Work-Certified™ company, launched on June 14, 2022 its associate volunteering initiative through a partnership with Tahanan ng Pagmamahal Children’s Home. This campaign brings critical awareness to the ongoing issue of supporting and helping to provide for the abandoned, neglected, foundling, and surrendered children.

According to data from the Philippines Orphanage Foundation, out of the over 109 million population in the country, at least 2 million are orphaned children. These children are left to the streets and dark places and, without help, face a life of poverty, hunger, sickness, abuse, beatings, and assaults with little chance of escape.

Legato brought together its leaders, volunteer associates, and its Clinical Operations Tower to help Tahanan ng Pagmamahal Children’s Home by spending time, joining in activities, and providing donations to support the children’s essential needs.

This campaign is an extension of Legato’s philosophy and purpose of improving the lives of communities. For Legato and the Tahanan ng Pagmamahal Children’s Home, the commitment to provide a healthy environment and access to proper healthcare plays a crucial role in improving the lives of young individuals and the community.

“At Legato, we recognize that we have a responsibility in addressing some of the present issues Filipinos are facing and helping to create better access to essentials is one way we are able to improve their lives,” says Nora Terrado, Country Head at Legato Philippines. “We want to provide our associates with the ability to give back to the communities, this is just one of the many ways we support our teams. We believe that by giving back we can make a meaningful impact on the lives of those around us. This volunteer initiative is one of the various ways we are committed to helping individuals attain a healthy life.”

“I would like to sincerely thank Legato, on behalf of the beneficiaries of our organization,” says Nila Valdez, Executive Director at Tahanan ng Pagmamahal Children’s Home. “This volunteer initiative helps ensure that the children have access to all their basic needs and are given the love and care that God and the community have for them.”
