Thirteen local designers have been chosen as official couturiers of the Mutya Ning Angeles 2022 candidates.
City Tourism Officer-in-Charge Anneleen Antonio-Sugui, one of the heads of the working committee of the MNA 2022, unveiled this.
“From the start of organizing the event, the plan is to also showcase homegrown talents and personalities,” Antonio-Sugui said.
Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel, Chairperson of MNA 2022’s working committee, said Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. recognizes the masterpieces of local fashion industries, and wants to further assist them from the impacts of the pandemic in their businesses.
“We are very excited to see our 20 official candidates dazzled by the creations of our 13 local designers,” Manuel said.
Among the local designers who will serve as the couturiers of MNA 2022 are Bhraye Adefuin; Jhune Angeles; Cholo Ayuyao; Clarence Ayuyao; Richard De Jesus; Enji Dobluis; RJ Guevarra; Bryan Henson; Carl John Miranda; Glenn Pablo; Rich Sabinian; Mitch Viray; and Manny Ocampo.
According to Manuel, each of the candidates will wear two gowns — one for the pre-pageant and the other for the coronation night.
The swimsuits and accessories will be created by Frederick Policarpio. Meanwhile, the shoes will be crafted by Bong Gonzales.
Lazatin’s Chief Adviser IC Calaguas further thanked the efforts of MNA parters, including co-presenter Beautéderm Corporation, Prime City Hotel, and Giada’s Cafe, making the MNA 2022 a night to celebrate not just the beauty of Angeleñas but the resiliency of Angeleños.
