LUBAO BAMBOO HUB GETS A MAJOR UPGRADE WITH TIEZA FUNDING

Lubao’s popular Bamboo Hub in Barangay Sta. Catalina is set to undergo a major transformation, thanks to a ₱28-million funding grant from the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA), spearheaded by COO Mark Lapid.

Among the much-anticipated features are a scenic hanging bridge, a floating restaurant, and an expanded and beautified eco-park—all designed to elevate the site into a premier tourist destination.

Governor-elect Lilia “Nanay” Pineda plans to add even more attractions to draw local and foreign visitors. Earlier today, she personally led an inspection of the site alongside Vice Mayor Jay Montemayor3rd District Board Member Atty. Jun Canlas, and other key provincial officials.

According to BM Canlas and Provincial Engineer Noli Pangan, a comprehensive master plan is in development for the next phases of the Bamboo Hub. Future enhancements may include:

  • Jetski and kayak rides along the river
  • floating restaurant on a barge
  • An additional function hall
  • PWD- and senior-friendly pathways
  • Expanded and upgraded bike lanes
  • floating spa that will provide livelihood opportunities for deaf-mute residents

Also joining the site inspection were 4th District Board Member-Elect Dr. Kaye Naguit, Provincial Engineer Olimpio Pangan, Provincial Health Officer Dr. Dax Tidula, PPDO Jericho Tapang, PENRO Arthur Punsalan, and GSO Chief Francis Maslog.
