Over 700 jeepney drivers in Mabalacat City received ten-kilo rice packs and additional food assistance today, personally led by Mayor Geld Aquino. The aid aims to ease the financial burden of drivers amid rising diesel prices caused by the ongoing Middle East conflict.

Mayor Aquino also announced that, in addition to cash assistance provided by the national government, the city administration will offer supplementary financial support to jeepney drivers. He expressed empathy for their struggles, assuring them that the LGU will continue seeking solutions during this oil crisis.

Recipients expressed gratitude for the assistance, acknowledging the city government’s efforts to support them.

Vice Mayor Jun Castro and Councilors Patricia Acorda, Errol Soliven, Noel Castro, Ike Morales, Vicoy Ong, and Board Members Cherry Manalo and Christian Halili joined in the distribution.

The city partnered with MGA Center to facilitate the food pack distribution.
