Masantol, Macabebe unite for flood solutions

Masantol and Macabebe officials recently held a collaborative meeting to discuss long-term solutions to flooding, highlighting the commitment of both municipalities to the welfare of their residents.

In a Facebook post, Mayor Danilo Guintu shared that the session was led by Macabebe Vice Mayor Vince Flores alongside members of their Sangguniang Bayan, working in partnership with Masantol’s Sangguniang Bayan led by Vice Mayor Liezle Guintu. Participants from Masantol included Municipal Administrator Atty. Jose Isagani Gonzales, SB members Boboy Lacap, Arthur Pauli, Jennifer Macalino, Jimmy Balingit, Bajun Lacap, Toy Viray, Gilbert Navarro, Ronald Flores, Joshua Bustos, and Jeniky Gaddi, as well as SB Secretary Hermie Punla, MEBO Engr. Garry Viray, MPDO Engr. Elisa Borsil, and Project Consultant Bernie Guevarra. Macabebe representatives included SB members Pol Balingit, Albert Flores, Mavic Pama, Dennis Yumang, Jojo Simpauco, Hermelino Yabut, and Emy Yanga, with SB Secretary Marion Yambao.

During the meeting, officials shared experiences of flooding in their respective towns and explored possible long-term solutions. Coordination with the DPWH Regional Director for Region III and the Pampanga Provincial Government was also agreed upon to strengthen flood control measures.

Masantol’s initiative in constructing an earth dike was praised by Macabebe officials, who are now studying the project for possible implementation in their municipality. The joint session underscores the importance of inter-municipal cooperation in creating safer, more resilient communities.

Mayor Guintu emphasized that both towns remain committed to working together for a safer and more prosperous future for their residents.
