Upon the orders of Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr., the house to house distribution of P1,000 financial assistance, under the Special Program for the Employment of Students (SPES) continues.
On October 6, the beneficiaries are 32 underprivileged but deserving students in Barangay Ninoy Aquino, and 26 in Barangay Sta. Teresita.
The P1,000 cash assistance will be given to 1,000 identified SPES beneficiaries in the city’s 33 barangays.
The SPES program is Department of Labor and Employment’s youth employment-bridging program which aims to provide assistance to poor but deserving students, out-of-school youth, and dependents of displaced or would-be displaced workers during summer to augment the family’s income to help ensure that beneficiaries are able to pursue their education.
Members of the Public Employment Services Officer (PESO), headed by Maria Rosa Teodora Basilio, led the distribution of P1,000 cash assistance. (Angeles CIO)
