Mayor Pogi convenes local child protection council 

Angeles City Mayor Carmelo ‘Pogi’ Lazatin Jr. on August 23, 2022 presided in the meeting with the Local Council for the Protection of Children and the members of the local council as the city government strengthens its programs on the safety of Angeleño children.

Joining Mayor Lazatin during the meeting are City Councilor JC Aguas, Executive Assistant V Raffy Angeles, Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel and City Social Welfare and Development Officer Edna Duaso.

Mayor Lazatin aims to continue putting a premium on the safety of Angeleño kids.

It can be recalled that the city government ramped up its city-wide rescue operation and saturation drive, supervised by Lazatin’s Chief Adviser IC Calaguas and Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel, as the city prioritizes the safety and welfare of Angeleños.

To date, a total of 196 individuals — 151 minors and 45 adults have been rescued and returned to their families around the city and in Porac town, Tarlac province, Mabalacat City and Nueva Ecija. 

Also present during the meeting are the representatives from UNICEF and Council for the Welfare of Children, Acting City Planning and Development Officer Engr. Nilda Quito, Angeles City Youth Development Officer Joffre Dulinayan, Public Employment and Services Officer Maridor Basilio, members of City Health Office, Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, Gender and Development Office and Angeles City Police Office.
