The Angeles City government, led by Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. will distribute medicine packaged to COVID-19 patients. Inside the medicine packages are azithromax, neozep, paracetamol, prednisone, and surgical masks.
The packages were inspected by Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel, Angeles City Economic Development Investment Promotions Officer Irish Bonus-Llego, and Mayor’s Office Senior Staff Jermaine Jam Aguila.
Mayor Lazatin said this initiative is to assist COVID-19 patients in their full recovery.
“Bilang natamaan na rin po ng COVID-19, alam po natin ang hirap at gastos sa pagpapagamot,” Lazatin shared.
Lazatin said this is only a small way to help them in their financial burden.
“Kahit lamang po sa ganitong paraan, matulungan natin sila sa gastusin sa gamot,” Lazatin added.
According to City Health Officer Dr. Verona Guevarra, the fastest way to recovery is full rest, drinking of plenty of water, eating nutritious foods, and taking prescribed medicines.
“Ang mga antiobiotics ay hindi epektibo na panlaban kontra COVID-19,” Guevarra explained.
Guevarra also said that although the city has seen a steady decline in COVID-19 cases, she is reminding her kababayans to always observe safety health protocols.
The vaccination drive in the city is still ongoing, having fully vaccinated 281,279 Angeleños, while 327,354 for first dose, and 2,325 for booster shots.
