MCC bags 2022 CHED Gawad Parangal
The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) has recognized Mabalacat City College (MCC) for being one of the nine Local Universities and Colleges (LUCs) in the Philippines with more than 75% of its program offerings granted Certificate of Compliance (COPC), Wednesday, May 18 held at Quezon City University.
MCC President, Dr. Michelle Aguilar-Ong with the Assistant Vice President Basty A. Sebastian, attended the awarding ceremony to receive the award.x
Mayor Crisostomo Garbo said that this is a true testament to his administration’s commitment to quality and excellence in higher education.
“There are more than 120 LUCs in the country, and the fact that MCC is one of the few awardees to receive this prestigious award just proves how serious we are in thriving to be the best in providing proper training of our students in preparing them on their next chapter in their future careers,” MCG added.
According to CHED Chairperson J. Prospero De Vera, the awardees today are the best of the best in Philippine higher education.In her acceptance speech on behalf of all the Local Universities and Colleges (LUCs) awardees, Dr. Aguilar-Ong cited that the CHED today is the most LUC friendly.
“For the first time in the history of LUCs, we are given scholarships, we are also receiving grants, and first time to be part of the Philippine delegation in international exploratory,” Ong said.
She then added: “The MCC family would like to dedicate this award to its Board of Trustees’ Chairman, Mayor Crisostomo C. Garbo, who just won a landslide victory in Mabalacat in the recently concluded election.” (MCN)
