METRO CLARK Waste Management Corporation, the operator of  the first and most advanced engineered sanitary landfill in the country, is set to celebrate its 20th anniversary this coming March 24 at Hilton Clark Ballroom.

The event will be attended largely by chief executives of local governments in Central and Northern Luzon and Metro Clarkโ€™s industrial clients and will be graced by local and international waste management luminaries including heads of agencies in charge of environment and economic zones authorities.

Vicky Gaetos, Executive Vice President of MCWMC, said that after two decades of providing professional waste management services to its wide range of clientele, the anniversary celebration is their companyโ€™s way of expressing their gratitude not only to their host of clientele but more so with the stakeholders such as the local communities that play host to their waste disposal service operations.

โ€œWe owe it all to them, the local communities as well as the hundreds of local government units that supported us throughout the past many years of our existence,โ€ Gaetos said.

The event will be highlighted by Metro Clarkโ€™s unveiling of their immediate and future plans as it โ€œreaffirms its commitment to environmental sustainability and quality managementโ€.

These include their ongoing program of development within and inside the 100 hectare facility located within Clarkโ€™s Special Economic Zone in Kalagitan, Capas Tarlac and laying down the companyโ€™s specific details on their planned  establishment of  a first of its kind Integrated-Solid-Waste-Management system inside the Kalangitan landfill site, which will feature a Waste-to-Energy (WTE) facility.

Norbert Plambeck of Plambeck Emirates, a global leader in WTE development program, will be flying in to discuss their companyโ€™s partnership in the development of multi-billion peso WTE facilities with Metro Clark.

Rufo Colayco, Chairman of Metro Clarkโ€™s Execom, will discuss the Companyโ€™s humble beginnings to where it is today, the leading waste management company in the country.

Congressman Joey Salceda and officials from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) will grace the event, which shall also have Gary Valenciano as guest.

Metro Clark Waste Management Corporationโ€™s (MCWMC) facilities utilize state-of-the-art German technology and best practices and has  been servicing more than 150 local government units in Central and Northern Luzon, over a thousand industrial clients, and including two major economic zones (Clark and Subic).

The company also boasts of being the only sanitary landfill operator in the country as having MCWM multiple ISO Certifications on Management, Environmental Compliance and Operational Health And Safety.

โ€œIndeed our 2 decades of successful operations is worthy of celebration. A celebration of fulfilled dreams and promises as we faced greater tasks at hand,โ€ Gaetos said.
