Museo ning Angeles re-opens
Following a ribbon-cutting ceremony and blessing, the Museo ning Angeles held a soft opening on Friday, March 25, led by local officials and officers and donors of the Kuliat Foundation Inc. (KFI).
The re-opening marks the launch of new and enhanced galleries, the history of its founders, artists and collections of the art, food and the cultural festivities of the city.
For past five years, the Museo ning Angeles was closed to the public for restoration and enhancement activities.
The restoration project started in October 2017 but took much longer as the COVID-19 pandemic hit the country.
The repair was funded by the Local Government of Angeles City and donors of the Kuliat Foundation.
The ribbon-cutting was led by Department of Tourism-III Regional Director Carolina Uy; Executive Assistant V Raffy Angeles representing Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr,; Arts & Culture Adviser Carmen McTavish; Museo ning Angeles Resident Historian Marco Nepomuceno; Kuliat Foundation Inc. President Leandro Naguiat; NHCP/Museum of Philippine Social History curator Bettina Ariola; Museo ning Angeles Project Curator Dr. Joseph Renta III; Danon Dizon representing the family of the late Daniel Dizon; Sto. Rosario Barangay Captain Rey Cosme; and, Holy Rosary Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Nolasco Fernandez.
The design and curation team are Jing Torno, Lucio Sison, Rhoda Salazar, Justin Lacson and project curator Joseph Renta.
The foundation extends its gratitude to the donors who supported the preservation of the city’s history, culture and traditions.
