The provincial government of Tarlac, in partnership with Nayong Pilipino Foundation (NPF) and Department of Tourism (DOT) recently opened an exhibit dubbed NAYON SA DIWA: Bringing Cultural Communities Closer to the Heart at the Diwa ng Tarlac Museum, Tarlac City.
This is the first time the Foundation has held an exhibit outside of Metro Manila and it aims to promote Filipino culture, heritage and identity.
The exhibit showcases items from different communities in the Philippines, including traditional items from the Aeta-Abellens in support of the National Tourism Development Plan (NTDP) 2023-2028.
The exhibit is also part of the NPF’s Travelling Museum Project . NPF’s Executive Director, Gertie Duran-Batocabe, emphasized the multicultural nature of Tarlac, which she called the “beating heart of Luzon,” and the unique experience it offers to visitors.
Tarlac Gov. Susan Yap welcomed the guests from the Department of Tourism, local government leaders and non-government agencies during the opening of the exhibit.
Also present were tribal Chieftain Abellen San Pedro, Rudy Dela Cruz and other tribal elders.
The exhibit is free and open to the public from Tuesday to Saturday, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, and runs until the last week of May 2023. (Tarlac Tourism)
