NCSC to adopt CSF practices for senior citizens
The National Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC) of the Office of the President is eyeing to adopt the services of the City Government of San Fernando to senior citizens.
NCSC Chairperson Atty. Franklin Quijano met Mayor Edwin “EdSa” Santiago on April 6, 2022 at the City Civic Center to discuss the City’s existing programs for the senior citizens.
Among the matters Santiago discussed were the roll-out of local and national social pensions, implementation of health and medical programs, construction of senior citizen-friendly infrastructures, and other assistance.Quijano said San Fernando’s programs are “among the best practices” in the entire country as he vowed to adopt and share them with other local government units.
Established in 2019 through Republic Act 11350, or the National Commission of Senior Citizens Act, the NCSC will host several programs projects, services, and activities for the senior citizens previously under the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
Also in attendance in the meeting were NCSC commissioners, and personnel from City Social Welfare and Development Office and City Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs. (CSF CIO)
