A groundbreaking ceremony took place on March 20, 2023, for the 3-storey legislative building which will soon be constructed at the Heroes Hall compound, City of San Fernando.
This building, which will house the Offices of the City Vice Mayor (OCVM) and the Sangguniang Panlungsod, shall provide a wider-scope, modernized workplace for the City’s legislative department and deliver convenience and safety to its clients.
It is located between the main Heroes Hall building and City College of San Fernando. City Vice Mayor BJ “Tiger” Lagman said that this building is a joint project of the House of Representatives, the City Government, and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
It will be funded by the national government – through the initiative of Pampanga Third District Representative and House Deputy Speaker, Hon. Aurelio “Dong” Gonzales, Jr., who was represented by Third District Board Member Mica Gonzales.
Mayor Vilma Balle-Caluag, who was the Senate of the Philippines, shared her message through City Administrator Engr. Nelson Lingat. She extended her felicitations to the OSP for embarking on a new period towards more excellent legislation services.
The Mayor also expressed her gratitude to Gonzales and the project’s partners for initiating a new significant measure that will aid the City Government’s vision, which is a socially-inclusive governance.
The OCVM and OSP, who currently hold office at a portion of the Heroes Hall building, will be transferred upon the building’s completion, which is targeted before the year ends.
Board Member Gonzales said the plans for the construction of a new executive building in front of the legislative building is now underway.
Also present at the groundbreaking rites were City Councilors Brenz Gonzales, Ricky Hizon, Angel Wijangco, Dr. Ayzel Mari-Grace Macalino, and Reden Halili. DPWH Pampanga First District Engineering Office’s Assistant District Engineer Alfie Lejarde also graced the event. (CSFP CIO)
