More than 200 Japanese business leaders and senior executives explored investment opportunities across the Luzon Economic Corridor (LEC) during the Philippine Investment Forum-Japan held in Osaka and Tokyo.
Led by the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA), in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry–Philippine Trade and Investment Center and the Philippine Embassy in Japan, the two-city roadshow showcased opportunities in advanced manufacturing, logistics, energy, digital infrastructure and other high-value industries.
The LEC connects Subic Bay, Clark, Metro Manila and Batangas, with investments focused on strengthening connectivity, supply chains, energy and digital infrastructure.
BCDA President and CEO Joshua M. Bingcang said Japan’s long-standing role in Philippine industrial development provides a strong foundation for deeper cooperation.
“Japan has long been a cornerstone partner in the Philippines’ industrial development. The Luzon Economic Corridor gives us an opportunity to take that partnership into the next generation of industries,” Bingcang said.
The BCDA Group presented investment opportunities across Clark, Subic, Poro Point, Camp John Hay and other strategic development areas. Participating entities included the Clark Development Corporation, Clark International Airport Corporation, John Hay Management Corporation, Poro Point Management Corporation, Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority and LIPAD Corporation.
Private-sector partners, including Science Park of the Philippines and Filinvest Land, also shared investment insights, while InfiniVAN, Marubeni Corporation and Kansai Electric Power Company presented their Philippine business experiences.
The roadshow highlighted opportunities in aviation, logistics, manufacturing, tourism, digital infrastructure, energy, water and wastewater facilities, and the proposed advanced manufacturing park in New Clark City.
The LEC, launched in 2024 by the Philippines, United States and Japan as the first Partnership for Global Infrastructure and Investment economic corridor in the Indo-Pacific, continues to expand its network of partner countries supporting resilient supply chains, infrastructure connectivity, energy security and sustainable growth.
