Pag-IBIG Fund offers housing loans for minimum-wage earners

The Home Development Mutual Fund (HDMF) or more popularly known as the Pag-IBIG Fund revealed that minimum wage earners can now avail of the agency’s housing programs so they can own their own house.

Pag-IBIG Fund Cabanatuan Branch Head Reynante Pasaraba said the Affordable Housing Program is for minimum-wage earners who can borrow up to Php750,000.

Those belonging to the informal sector such as tricycle drivers, jeepney drivers, market vendors and workers in similar fields are also eligible to avail of the housing program.

This is just one of the services and benefits that qualified Pag-IBIG members can get, especially those with two years or 24 months of premium contributions, so they can apply for their own house.

Pasaraba said new members are allowed to make a lump sum payment to cover the required 24 months of contribution if they want to apply for the housing programs.

With these new rules, Pag-IBIG Fund members no longer need to wait for two years to avail of such benefits. He also said that members can apply for the Pag-IBIG Housing Loan and can borrow up to Php6 million that they can use to build one’s own house.

Among the services the Pag-IBIG Fund is also offering is assistance for associations and local government employees and selected beneficiaries who want to avail of the housing programs through the Countryside Housing Initiative.

Pasaraba also announced that members of the Pag-IBIG Fund can be beneficiaries of the Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino Housing Program that is being promoted by the current administration.

Aside from providing housing, the Pag-IBIG Fund offers many other programs such as a savings program, loyalty card benefits, Modified Pag-IBIG II Savings, acquired assets and others that will benefit every member. (PIA Gitnang Luzon)
