Pamamunla Visual Art Exhibit opens

ANGELES CITY—In celebration of National Arts Month, the Angeles City Local Government and the Angeles City Tourism Office-Culture and Arts Council opened the Pamumunla Art Exhibit to support Kapampangan artists and to recognize the arts as a source of hope in a creative way in response to the effects of the pandemic.

The Pamumunla Art Exhibit opened this Monday, February 7, as a show of support and promotion of the artistic creations of Kapampangan artists amidst the pandemic.

Forty artists banded together to exhibit their works in different forms of media.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony was led by Angeles City Vice-Mayor Vicenta “Vicky” Vega-Cabigting, Executive Assistant Raffy Angeles who represented Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr., SM City Clark Assistant Mall Manager Grace Miranda, Museum of Philippine Social History Curator Bettina Arriola and exhibitor Norman Tiotuico.

Hand-made pieces, vintage treasures, paintings, mixed media, abstracts, religious pieces and sculptures were featured in the exhibit.

Tiotuico said despite many constraints, the pandemic has not been a hindrance to pursue the exhibits but has instead united them.

He said the pandemic has been challenging for all the artists but with the support of the local government, they were motivated and inspired to do great art works and share their creations to the community.

Led by Tiotuico, local artists who joined include Badet Tiotuico, Aurelio Quilala De Guzman, Lyndon Joseph V. Susi, Cyril Quizon, Gerald Alvarez Dela Cruz, Dodjie Arellano Aguinaldo, Arnel D. Garcia, Simkin de Pio, Joel Pabustan Mallari, Jennel Bodino, and Herminigildo Pineda.

Exhibit participants also include the Porac Young Artists, Jojoy Zabala, Ramcos Nulud, Robert Calderon, Enrie Nicdao, Ailyn Gonzales, Heidy Macabenta, Andy Bondoc, Ramil Tumampos, Hajjie B. Gonzales, Andy M. Ramos, Billy Corcuera, Romel Obellano, Art Sumalde, Marylou Lilibeth Millan, Luziel Soriano, Marianne David, and Karla de Guzman Velasquez.

Dr. Vittorio Pantig, Arnold Salunga, Jonathan Pili, Ronald Buenacifra Jr., Edwin Dizon Catli, Berlin Guanlao, Lloyd Dacayanan, Violeta Gregorio, Jaysil Sararana, and Raul “Pol” Del Mundo also pitched in for the exhibit.

 

For those who want to explore and appreciate the artists’ mastery of the different elements that brought about truly remarkable work of arts, come and visit the “Pamamunla” visual art exhibit at the ground level of the SM City Clark from February 8-28, 2022.
