The Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Pampanga held a session on September 9, together with vice mayors, representatives from the Municipal Planning Office, Committee on Land Use, and other local officials, to streamline and ensure a law-compliant land reclassification process that is also investor-friendly.

The discussion highlighted the Prescribed Procedures and Standards on Land Reclassification under Memorandum Circular No. 54, Series of 1993 and Administrative Order No. 363, Series of 1997, as well as provisions of Republic Act 7160 or the Local Government Code of 1991, which empowers cities and municipalities to reclassify agricultural lands into non-agricultural uses.

Priority topics included the importance of proper land assessment and complete requirements to ensure clarity and order in reclassifying land from agricultural to commercial, industrial, or residential purposes.

Board Members Christian Halili, Dra. Kaye Naguit, Fritzie David-Dizon, and Vince Calara also attended the session, stressing the critical role of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan and LGUs in providing guidance and approval for applications to prevent delays and ensure compliance with the law.
