The province of Pampanga received top honors in 2019 national performance for revenue generation thanks to good governance and efficient public service.
During the awarding of the National Top Performing Provinces, Cities and Municipalities in Local Revenue Generation for FY 2019, the province was ranked sixth out of all provinces in the Philippines based on the 2019 Year-on-Year (YoY) Growth in Locally Sourced Revenues (LSR), with P493,678,009.46 in revenue or a 21.7 percent YoY growth rate.
Pampanga also placed eighth in the 2019 Collection Efficiency of Locally Sourced Revenues (LSR), generating more than P1.5 billion or a collection efficiency of 109.2 percent.
It was also ranked 10th out of all the provinces in the country based on the 2019 Highest Nominal LSR.
The certificates of achievement were presented on October 15 during a virtual awarding ceremony.
Memo Circular 006.2021, issued by the Bureau of Local Government Finance (BGLF), mandates that top-performing provinces, cities, and municipalities in local income generation be recognized.
According to the memo, provinces, cities, and municipalities will be judged on three performance areas: highest nominal locally sourced revenues (LSR); collection efficiency (CE) of LSR; and year-on-year growth in LSR.
Tax revenues from real estate, business, and other local taxes, as well as non-tax collections from fees and charges, government business operations, and other miscellaneous income, are all examples of locally or internally sourced income.
Gov. Dennis ‘Delta’ Pineda expressed gratitude for the honor and thanked all sectors for their assistance in keeping the province’s income generation efforts going even in the face of the pandemic.
“Thank you for including us among the top performing provinces. This motivates us to work even harder to maintain our revenue-generation efforts in the direction of stronger local governance and efficient public service,” the governor said.
