Pampanga’s First: Launching Gantry “Luid” begins operation for PNR Clark Phase 2A
Segmental Launching Gantry commences operation in Pampanga, in the ongoing construction of the massive North-South Commuter Railway (NSCR) System (Malolos-Clark Segment).

Named as “LUID”, which is the equivalent of “Mabuhay” in Kapampangan, this historic milestone in Pampanga province represents the FIRST TIME usage of this internationally renowned modern construction method.
The “LUID” will travel 5.5 kilometers between Brgy. Lourdes, Minalin in Pampanga and Brgy. Gatbuca, Calumpit in Bulacan, and will be utilized to construct the railway viaduct. It will also lift sixteen 35-ton pre-casted segmental box girders and combine them into one 40-meter railway viaduct span. In total, the “LUID” will create 140 railway viaduct spans.

The “LUID” will be one of the 11 launching gantries operating in the Malolos-Clark Segment of the NSCR System.
Through the Official Development Assistance (ODA) loans from the ADB, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the Philippine National Railways (PNR) are able to employ this internationally recognized method of construction to ensure the safe, efficient, and quality construction of the NSCR.
The NSCR System, the mass transport project from Clark International Airport to Calamba, Laguna, will create over 47,000 direct jobs and 106,000 indirect jobs during its construction, contributing to post-COVID and economic growth of Luzon, particuarly in Regions 3 and 4-A as well as the National Capital Region (NCR).
And this is relentlessly pursued by the DOTr, for the fullfillment of its mandate of giving a more convenient and comfortable life for the Filipino people. (DOTr)
