Angeles City Mayor Carmelo ‘Pogi’ Lazatin Jr. on November 23, 2021 welcomed Pamagaral Kultura at Letraturang Kapampangan (PKLK) President Nenita Reyes, Ronald Ramos and Erlinda Natac during their courtesy visit at the Mayor’s Office Conference Room.

They were joined by Angeles City Tourism Officer-in-Charge Anneleen Antonio-Sugui, City Administrator Atty. Willie Rivera, Executive Assistant V Raffy Angeles, and Angeles City Anti-Drug Abuse Council Head Ricky Saul.

The city government and PKLK discuss about their partnership for the operation of the Sinupan Singsing Center for Kapampangan Cultural Heritage located in the Angeles City Library.

Since her appointment as Officer-in-Charge of Tourism Office, Sugui has spearheaded the promotion of the use of Kapampangan language.

This is in line with the objective of Mayor Lazatin, which is to promote the Kapampangan language especially among the youth.

Lazatin has earlier has asked the City Council to use Kapampangan in its sessions, as well as in all government programs and soon in day care instructions and traffic signages. —Photos by Jomes Sugui
