Pogi welcomes new AC CIDG chief

Mayor Carmelo ‘Pogi’ Lazatin Jr. on June 13, 2022 welcomes the new chief of Angeles City Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Police Major Alex Reyes during the latter’s courtesy visit at the Mayor’s Office Conference Room.

Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel is also present during the short meeting.

Mayor Lazatin vows to support the CIDG’s programs in prioritizing the city’s peace and order and the citizens’ safety and welfare.

Mayor Lazatin underscored to Police Major Reyes his priority aim to eliminate the illegal drug menace in the city.

“Bukas po ang [ating] opisina sa mga pangangailangan po ng CIDG,” Lazatin said. “Mag-tulungan po tayo.”

Mayor Lazatin also shared the establishment of the Balay Silangan Reformation Center in his administration, being supervised by his Chief Adviser IC Calaguas.

The Angeles City Government, under the leadership of Mayor Lazatin, was recognized by the Department of the Interior and Local Government for two consecutive years for its anti-drug programs with high-functionality.

According to Richard Alan Saul, Angeles City Anti-Drug Abuse Council Officer-in-Charge, this means that the city has 80% success rate in terms of rehabilitation programs for drug surrenderees.

To recall, the Balay Silangan Reformation Center is a brainchild of former Director General Aaron Aquino of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency to reform illegal drug offenders.(Angeles CIO)
