The Pampanga Press Club (PPC), one of the oldest media organizations in the country, is celebrating its 73rd anniversary and will hold its event on November 24, 2022 at Royce Hotel in the Clark Freeport Zone in Pampanga.
The PPC will give recognition to the unsung heroes who helped Pampanga’s recovery from the pandemic by saving the lives of not only to PPC members but the rest of the communities in the province as well.
The PPC is headed by its hardworking President Noel Tulabut and Chairperson Tonette Orejas who both steered the organization to new directions that will continue to give genuine service to the public.
I am confident that the PPC, under the leadership of Tulabut, will further improve the welfare of its members in the years to come.

Pampanga Press Club to honor ‘partners in recovery’ in 73rd anniversary
The Pampanga Press Club or PPC will be celebrating its 73rd anniversary on November 24, 2022 with the theme “PPC: Pampanga’s Partner in Recovery”.
The PPC will highlight this significant milestone by recognizing individuals and organizations that have shown able leadership at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, helping save lives and reducing risks among people including those of PPC members.
Among those who will be honored during the event, which will be held at the Royce Hotel in Clark Freeport, are Gov. Dennis “Delta” Pineda; Vice Gov. Lilia “Nanay” Pineda; Mabalacat Mayor Crisostomo Garbo; Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr.; ROMAC Group chairman and CEO Rene Romero; the NLEX Corp.; Clark Development Corporation; Mekeni Food Corp., Jose B. Lingad Memorial General Hospital Medical Chief Dr. Monserrat Chichioco; and Dr. Dax Tidulo, Head of the Pampanga COVID-19 Response Team.
The PPC thanks them for their interventions that eased the hardships of the people under their care, and for being the lead front-liners who risked their own lives to save the lives of COVID-19 patients.
“We are thankful for the unwavering support of the awardees to our members during the height of the pandemic. Without hesitation, they extended a helping hand during a very difficult time and helped bring relief to the PPC and its members, helping us perform our jobs as media practitioners,” PPC President Noel G. Tulabut said.
He said that after two years of challenges brought by the pandemic, the PPC is now slowly recovering and getting back on its feet.
He added: “Because of this, we were able to continue doing our work as bearers of relevant information to the public during the global health crisis.”
The event also seeks to celebrate the lives of the men and women journalists who have carried on the torch through the decades despite the challenges of the times.
Over the years, members of the PPC – seasoned over time – have individually and collectively stood for press freedom, being vanguards for truth and liberty. They have witnessed the tragedies of the past times, natural or manmade, and documented all the significant milestones for Pampanga and even the country.
The PPC, the second oldest press organization in the country after the Dumaguete Press Club and older than the National Press Club, also continues to make a more meaningful impact through community projects and immersions and has re-opened its media conferences – News@Hues and KapiHann – which are designed to help address community concerns.
Just recently, it participated in the adoption of certain parcels of land for the watershed program of Angeles City, and is now a partner of the provincial government of Pampanga as an accredited Civil Society Organization.
The PPC was also scouted to be a member of the Provincial Peace and Order Council and Provincial Development Council.
The anniversary celebration will also honor those who have gone ahead of their time, but will never be forgotten for being vanguards of truth and symbols of integrity.
“PPC, which is made up of a pool of talented journalists, remains stronger, steadfast and committed as ever. We remain a part of a resilient community who is still recovering for the rehabilitation and transformation of Pampanga and its environs,” Tulabut said.
