Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) seized nearly ₱4.9 million worth of smuggled tobacco products and arrested 27 individuals in a week-long series of intensified operations across Central Luzon.
From April 6 to 12, 2026, PRO3 conducted 220 anti-illegal trade operations that resulted in the confiscation of thousands of illicit tobacco items, including master cases, cartons, reams, and assorted packs.

The bulk of the recoveries came from Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, and Pampanga, underscoring sustained efforts to curb illegal distribution networks in the region.
PRO3 Regional Director PBGen. Jess B. Mendez said the operations were conducted in line with directives from Interior and Local Government Secretary Juanito Victor C. Remulla and PNP Chief PGen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., aimed at strengthening the campaign against illegal trade.
He stressed that the initiative is not only about enforcement but also about protecting communities and ensuring accountability among those involved in illicit activities.
PRO3 said it will continue intelligence-driven and coordinated operations across Central Luzon to further disrupt illegal trade and support law enforcement efforts.
