Mekeni Food Corporation, led by president Prudencio ‘Pruds’ Garcia recently recognized 174 outstanding students who are children and dependents of the employees. Coming from elementary, high school and tertiary levels of education and locations, the students were given cash incentives and medals.

The Galing ng Batang Mekeni Award was started in 2007 and is aimed to motivate families in appreciating the hardwork of their parents and for children to value the importance of education in improving their lives.

Mekeni founders Tatay Felix and Nanay Meding , both former educators, have given high premium on the importance of education in one’s chosen career.

This year’s Galing ng Batang Mekeni awards rites were conducted in a hybrid manner. Only the parents were at the venue, while the children awardees were on Zoom.
