SEC holds investors education program in Gerona

Securities and Exchange Commission-Tarlac Extension Office (SEC-TEO) conducted an investor education seminar for barangay officials in the municipality of Gerona.

This initiative targets to increase public awareness and strengthen linkages at the grassroots level for further collaborations.

SEC-TEO Director Richard Laus, who served as the resource speaker, emphasized the significant role of the Commission in championing the interests of the investors in the country.

“We are one with our partner from the Department of the Interior and Local Government in protecting the interest of our investors at the grassroots level,” Laus said.

For his part, Liga ng mga Barangay President Tirso Domingo Jr. recognized the agency for reaching out to the barangay officials of Gerona, Tarlac to promote competitive and secured environment for easy company registration, efficient market and extensive investor participation at the local community level.

About 44 barangay secretaries and officials joined the orientation on SEC mandates and issuances, as well as discussions related to investment scams and corporate laws. (CLJD/GLSB-PIA 3)
