The SM Super Spelling Bee returns for its third year with a bigger competition format, more participating malls, and over ₱5 million worth of prizes for young Filipino spellers.
For the first time, the competition will feature a Regional Semi-Finals stage across six SM Supermalls, while eliminations will be held in 49 malls nationwide, up from 40 in previous years.
The competition is open to students aged 9 to 11 enrolled for Academic Year 2026-2027. Eliminations are scheduled on September 12, 19 and 26, and October 3 and 10.
Regional Semi-Finals will be held on October 17, 18, 24 and 25, covering North Luzon, South Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao and Metro Manila. The Grand Finals will take place on November 14 at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall.
SM Supermalls Senior Assistant Vice President for Marketing & Leasing Hanna Carinna T. Sy said the competition aims to help children develop focus, perseverance, critical thinking and language skills while discovering the power of words.
Last year, more than 5,700 students participated, with Jamver Mallari of SM City Legazpi emerging as grand winner.
This year’s prizes include cash awards, SM gift certificates, National University college scholarships, National Book Store gift cards, MacBooks and iPads from Power Mac Center, and Bahay Turo vouchers. Special prizes will also be given to the schools of the top three finalists.
