SMC x MCG: partners in vaxx

SM City Clark (SMC) and the Mabalacat City Government (MCG) have a continuing partnership, which was born out of the critical need to combat the dreaded COVID-19.

SM City Clark Mall Manager Jerwin Jalandoni

Jerwin Jalandoni, SM City Clark Mall Manager, recalls “Back in May 2021, at the height of the COVID-19 scare, we offered our Cinemas as a vaccination site for Mabalacat City. With the approval of Department of Health (DOH) Pampanga, SM City Clark and the Mabalacat City Government (MCG) through Mayor Cris Garbo, signed a Memorandum of Agreement to this effect.”

The mall manager added, “SM City Clark is very happy and honored to be part of the Mabalacat LGU’s vaccination program. It is our simple way of contributing to the community’s fight against the pandemic. At the same time, through the vaccination, we hope to be able to bring back the confidence of people in having a safe shopping experience.”

To date, almost 168,000 (combination of 1st dose, 2nd dose and booster shots) have already been jabbed at SM City Clark.

Pedia Vaxx
And the vaccination partnership between SM City Clark and the Mabalacat City Government continues on. On February 18, Resbakuna Kids, the pediatric vaccination program, catering to kids aged 5 to 11 years old, was officially launched.

To make kids feel at ease, and to give them an all-out fun vaxx experience, SM City Clark has set-up its IMAX Theater as a party-themed vaccination area, with superheroes ‘waiting’ in designated corners.

While waiting for their turn, kids were entertained by the mall management with balloon twisting and a magic show.

Jerwin Jalandoni shared that “We also invited our tenant partners like McDonald’s, World of Fun and Quantum to participate in the event by way of food and tokens for the kids.”

During the Resbakuna Kids launch, a total of 132 kids were vaccinated.

Pedia Vaxx Registration
For vaccination, kids must be registered by their school or daycare centers. If the kid is not enrolled, parents may register them at the Local Youth Development Office (LYDO) at the Mabalacat City Hall.

The partnership continues
SM City Clark has been the partner of Mabalacat City in all its vaccination endeavors. This partnership, which commenced at the height of the COVID-19 scare, continues on.

“We at SM City Clark would like to thank Mabalacat City for trusting us to host their vaccination project. The hardworking COVID-19 Response Integrated System (CRIS) team, headed by Chief Implementer Dr. Jose Antonio Rivera, Mabalacat City Health Office’s Dr. Claire Aquino and Mayor Cris Garbo and the Mabalacat City Government (MCG) made it all possible to lead the vaccination program across Central Luzon, and this was commended by Presidential Adviser for COVID Response and ‘Testing Czar’ Vince Dizon, who was present during the Resbakuna Kids launch last Friday,” said Jalandoni.
