The Angeles City government, led by Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr., has already rescued 453 individuals and transferred them to designated facilities, and reunited some of them with their families through the Balik-Probinsya program.
Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. has issued a sternl warning for parents and legal guardians of those rescued from the streets in violation of the anti-mendicancy law to look out for their kids and families or face charges.
Following the directive of Mayor Carmelo ‘Pogi’ Lazatin, Jr. on the stricter implementation of the Anti-Mendicancy Law, personnel of the City Social Welfare and Development Office, led by Edna Duaso, on May 18, 2023 conducted an operation to rescue families and children in the streets, Batang Solvent, and members of the indigenous community around Angeles City.
