Tarlac Provincial, Congressional officials take oath

Tarlac Provincial and Congressional officials took their oath in a ceremony held at the Bulwagang Kanlahi.

In her inaugural address, Governor Yap recognized the contributions of previous officials who led Tarlac, and encouraged newly-elected leaders to advance programs promoting public interest.

“It is in our hands now, as newly-elected officials, in the coming three, short three years to do our best. Let us not forget, for all the local chief executives, to listen and take action to what our people need and want [so] that we may be able to give the quality of life that they aspire,” she said.

Governor Yap added that local leaders must be exemplars of service, integrity and respect, and must embody every word of their oath in serving their constituents.

“We are all here for the people and for the advancement of Tarlac. I am proud to be a Tarlaqueño. Let us be proud to be a Tarlaqueño. Let us bring our province to greater heights. Let us be a business-friendly province and better-planned communities,” she noted.

Meanwhile, Tarlac’s new Congressional delegation took their oath.

Jaime Cojuangco was sworn in virtually as representative of the 1st district which consists of the towns of Anao, Camiling, Mayantoc, Moncada, Paniqui, Pura, Ramos, San Clemente, San Manuel, and Santa Ignacia.

In his speech, Cojuangco cited priority sectors that would unlock the potentials of their district, and help achieve inclusive growth in all communities.

“I would like to make my mark in the hearts and minds of Tarlaqueños by showing my brand of leadership and service of being a Cojuangco. With the help of the local government officials, I plan to focus on measures that improve the acceptance of modern agriculture, application of digital technology in education, promotion of eco-tourism and agro-tourism, support to micro, small and medium enterprises, and development of holistic energy and transport network,” he stated.

The solon disclosed his plans to immerse in communities to understand their strengths and struggles, and to bring a positive change.

Moreover, Christian Yap was sworn in as representative of the 2nd district which comprises the city of Tarlac and towns of Gerona, Victoria and San Jose.

In his speech, the younger Yap emphasized all-out support to the agriculture sector through modern technology to increase farmers’ earnings and harvest, and ensure food security.

He mentioned other focus programs including the health care system, sustainable economy and environment protection.

“We will work on preserving our planet for the next generation by future-proofing policies because of climate change. We will ensure that our environment will not be neglected as we progress. Our life is not separate from that of the world we live in,” he said.

Meanwhile, Noel “Bong” Rivera was sworn in as representative of the 3rd district which covers the municipalities of Concepcion, Capas, Bamban, and La Paz.

He expressed his gratitude to the people who supported and helped him during the campaign period.

Rivera vowed to do his best in bringing development and uplifting the lives of the people in his district.

Other officials who took their oath of office include Vice Governor Carlito David and members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, including 1st district board members Jessie Aquino, Romeo Evangelista Jr., and Joy Gilbert Lamorena; 2nd district board members Danilo Asiaten, Christopher Delos Reyes, Dennis Norman Go and Harmes Sembrano; and 3rd district board members Henry Cruz, Danilo David and Vernon Villanueva.
